Geetha Narayanan - Founder Director
Geetha is an educator with over four decades of experience as a teacher, an educator, a curriculum and instruction designer. At all times a catalyst Dr. Narayanan has tried over the years to evolve paradigms of learning that integrate the mind, body and consciousness and in the last few years has worked at creating collaborative pedagogical frameworks for the teaching of mathematics, science and languages within the Indian educational system at the informal and formal levels of schooling.
Dr Narayanan is currently Founder Director of Srishti Institute of Art Design & Technology; Principal Investigator of Project Vision, a Director’s Fellow at the Media Lab, MIT, USA and a visiting faculty at the Future of Learning Institute at Harvard Graduate School of Education USA.
Kumkum is Dean of Technical Education. She is responsible for curriculum planning and design for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Diploma Programs in Visual Communication Design. Kumkum is also part of the team to plan and set up Srishti’s off-site Technical Diploma Program. In the past 11 years, Kumkum has not only set up the Department of Communication Design, but has also taught courses, workshops and projects across different departments and years of studies at Srishti. Kumkum brings with her 30 years of work experience as a Graphic Designer and 16 years as an educator. Her practice and teaching is informed by her multi-faceted education in Architecture, Industrial Design and Graphic Design.
Kumkum’s interests in engaging with the urban landscape through the lenses of art, culture and communication have guided many projects, assignments and workshops at Srishti and at other national and international events.
Jacob, a product designer trained at NID, works at the intersection of Design, Business, Sustainability, Capital and Social Impact. He co-founded consulting companies Tessaract and Idiom Design, Dovetail Furniture in manufacturing, The Design Store in retailing and Spring Health in BOP services. Jacob worked with the first wave of retailers like Levi’s, Weekender, Titan etc, and continued to help create big organized retail businesses like Big Bazaar, Central, Brand Factory and Hometown too. As CEO of Industree Foundation, Jacob leads the Creative Million mission to bring a million women artisans into producer-owned enterprises over the next 10 years, building a multi billion dollar “AMUL” of Creative Manufacturing. At Srishti, he leads the Impact Edge Lab which works with students in their thesis projects and Impact Entrepreneurship programs in Bangalore and Pune bringing live projects and enterprise building into the academic environment. Jacob continues to play a mentoring role at Idiom and also advises several start-up companies in addition to being a design mentor to the Future Group.

John is Dean of Industrial Design and brings extensive experience in the furniture, Industrial and Interior Design sectors. Graduating from the National Institute of Design he went on to found Studioline Interior Systems in 1985 and Dovetail Furniture in 1990 in Bangalore, John has enjoyed commercial and creative success with these uniquely design driven business’ in India.
John has been a driving force at Srishti since 2000, taking the role of Head of Design for Furniture and Interiors and building these departments from scratch to the respected institutions they are today.
Recently adding the role of Head of Industrial Design to his portfolio John has been responsible for creating a generation of skilled designers in India. John’s passion is for contemporary, progressive design that challenges and provokes. The aspect of technology fused with new materials and traditional practices has been explored extensively during his tenure at Srishti, eschewing mediocrity and conservatism at every step.

Dr. Girish Prabhu
Dr. Girish Prabhu holds the position of Dean of School of Design, Business & Technology. Girish has 25 years of experience in user, business, design innovation, new product & business development, and product internationalization & localisation. Girish has published referred papers in international journals, holds 16 U.S. patents and is an invited speaker at both national and international conferences. He is a member of PDMA, ISPIM and ACM-SIGCHI. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering (Human Factors) from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Engineering, Mysore. He is interested in innovating for emerging markets and product & service localisation. Girish also is the Director of Srishti Labs, a centre for Human Centered Innovation and Experience Design. Prior to this assignment, he has held various management positions in new business development, re-search, and product commercialization at Eastman Kodak, HP,and Intel and was instrumental in implementing user-centered design and innovation processes in multiple product areas.

Mary Jacob Kuruvilla
Mary has a Bachelors in Architecture from University of Visveswaraya College of Engineering Bangalore. She has a wide range of experience in architectural and interior projects including residences, offices and resorts. Mary has also taught at Exterior & Interiors as senior faculty, in their various centers in Cochin, Bangalore and Calcutta, where she also developed their syllabus and courseware.
She joined Srishti as a faculty of Interior Design and is currently the Dean of The School of Law Environment and Planning (SLEP). At Srishti she leads the LeNS project (Learning Network on Sustainability Project). This is a EU funded project in collaboration with other design schools in Europe and Asia. She is also coordinating the LeNS India chapter. Mary has worked on various projects with students at Srishti, which includes Sustainable and Inclusive Design. She also facilitates spatial design courses for the Postgraduate Diploma students.

Agnishikha Choudhuri - Head of Pune Center
A design practitioner, educator and researcher with an M.S. in Interior Design from Eastern Michigan University and an M.A. in Literature from S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Agnishikha joined Srishti in 2011 as full-time faculty. Her research interests and explorations are varied and currently include design pedagogy, design history, urban waste management, redefining urban landscapes and public space design. She has ten years of experience in a diverse portfolio ranging from managing and facilitating personal transformation programs, faculty development, film production and teaching both design and literature.

Ravindranath G. - Dean, Academics Pune Center
A visual artist, Ravindranath has an M.F.A from M.S University, Baroda.
Presently heading the Srishti Centre for Technical program in Pune, with over two decades of teaching art & design education including teaching, designing and implementing art pedagogy. He has taught several courses, worked on and participated in research programs in the areas of Art, Design, Language and Culture. He is interested in understanding the pursuit of Art&Design in inter-junctions of practice, pedagogy and purpose. Believes not in Art & Design to effect a change directly, but in its capacity to enable people to bring in the necessary transformation and development for the planet. He just enjoys being part of that cycle of constructing and sharing knowledge.
